Description:
Levetiracetam is an antiepileptic drug used to treat seizures in people with epilepsy. It is used as monotherapy or adjunctive therapy for various types of seizures, including partial-onset seizures, myoclonic seizures, and generalized tonic-clonic seizures.
Indications and Usage:
Levetiracetam 250 mg Tablets are indicated for Partial-Onset Seizures as monotherapy in patients aged 16 years and older and adjunctive therapy in patients aged 1 month and older. It’s also prescribed for Myoclonic Seizures as adjunctive therapy in patients aged 12 years and older with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy. And treating Generalized Tonic-Clonic Seizures as adjunctive therapy in patients aged 6 years and older with idiopathic generalized epilepsy.
Initial dose: 500 mg twice daily. Maintenance dose: 500 mg to 1,500 mg twice daily for all the types of seizures.
