Description:
Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It is used to treat various conditions involving excessive stomach acid, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and erosive esophagitis. Pantoprazole helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, prevents ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus.
Indications and Usage:
Pantoprazole Gastro-Resistant Tablets are indicated for the treatment of erosive esophagitis associated with GERD and maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis and reduction in relapse rates of heartburn symptoms in adult patients with GERD. Also used in the treatment of conditions like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome where the stomach produces too much acid. Indicated for Short-term Treatment of Erosive Esophagitis.
40 mg once daily for up to 8 weeks. For patients who have not healed after 8 weeks of treatment, an additional 8-week course may be considered.
