Description:
Prasugrel is used alongside low-dose aspirin to prevent thrombosis in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), including unstable angina, non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI), and ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), particularly when treatment involves percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Prasugrel belongs to the thienopyridine class of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) receptor inhibitors, similar to ticlopidine (Ticlid) and clopidogrel (Plavix).
