Description:
Norfloxacin is a synthetic chemotherapeutic antibacterial agent commonly utilized for the treatment of both uncomplicated and complicated urinary tract infections. In its ophthalmic formulation, it is referred to as Chibroxin. Norfloxacin is classified as a first-generation synthetic fluoroquinolone.
Tinidazole is an antiparasitic medication effective against protozoan infections and is widely prescribed for the treatment of various amoebic and parasitic infections.
Simethicone is an orally administered anti-foaming agent that alleviates bloating, discomfort, or pain resulting from excessive gas—primarily from swallowed air, along with small amounts of hydrogen and methane—in the stomach or intestines. Simethicone is composed of polydimethylsiloxane and hydrated silica gel.
Indications and Usage:
Norfloxacin, Tinidazole, and Simethicone is a quinolone antibiotic indicated for the treatment of urinary tract infections (including pyelonephritis, cystitis, and urethritis), genital infections (such as prostatitis, cervicitis, and endometritis), gastrointestinal infections (including salmonellosis and shigellosis), and uncomplicated gonorrhea. Its mechanism of action involves the inhibition of DNA gyrase, leading to destabilization of bacterial DNA and subsequent death of susceptible bacteria. This combination is effective against a range of organisms, including Staphylococcus spp. (including Staphylococcus aureus), Neisseria spp., E. coli, Citrobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Salmonella spp., Enterobacter spp., Hafnia, Shigella spp., Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Vibrio cholerae, Haemophilus influenzae, Chlamydia spp., Mycoplasma spp., among others.
