It is classified as a quaternary ammonium compound and is a semisynthetic derivative of scopolamine.
Indications and Usage:
Butylscopolamine is indicated for the relief of pain and discomfort associated with abdominal cramps, menstrual cramps, and other spasmodic activities within the digestive system. It is also effective in preventing bladder spasms. Unlike traditional analgesics, it does not merely mask or alleviate pain but works to prevent painful cramps and spasms from occurring.
