Frusemide Injection

Product Name: Frusemide Injection

Common Name: loop diuretic injection

Strength: 10 mg / 1 ml

Description:

Furosemide is classified as a loop diuretic, commonly referred to as a “water pill.” It functions by acting on the kidneys to enhance urine production.

Furosemide increases the volume of urine generated and expelled, facilitating the removal of excess fluid (edema) from the body. When taken in tablet form, its effects typically onset within one hour and last for approximately 4 to 6 hours. In contrast, the injectable form begins to take effect within 30 minutes and lasts for about 2 hours.

Indications and Usage:

Furosemide injection is indicated for the management of fluid retention (edema) and swelling associated with conditions such as congestive heart failure, liver disease (cirrhosis), kidney disease, and other medical disorders. Additionally, it is utilized to control mild to moderate hypertension and may be administered in conjunction with other medications for the treatment of more severe hypertension. The use of furosemide can also alleviate symptoms such as dyspnea and edema.
